Amanda was recognised by Best Lawyers Australia as a 2022 Lawyer of the Year in Outsourcing Law. Practising at the ever-shifting intersection of law and technology, Amanda advises clients on navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Her driving focus is partnering with clients to deliver exemplary outcomes, weaving in both legal and strategic considerations to provide actionable and commercial advice.
Amanda has developed a pre-eminent practice which spans the digital economy, from the rollout of digital infrastructure to digital transformation projects and data regulation. Most recently, Amanda has forged a reputation as a trusted advisor in uplifting cyber readiness and is known for her reassuring presence in times of acute cyber crisis.
Amanda is a recognised expert on the legal and regulatory aspects of digital and telecommunications infrastructure including subsea cable and terrestrial fibre networks. Amanda's digital infrastructure practice spans projects in Australia, APAC, Africa, EMEA and the United Kingdom, having advised key clients such as Meta (previously Facebook) and the Commonwealth on major subsea cable projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia and the South Pacific. Amanda has also acted for nbn, the Gold Coast City Council and New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority on a series of diverse terrestrial fibre projects.
Amanda's unique combination of public and private sector experience cements her leadership in the digital transformation space. She advises government and private sector clients on complex procurements and large-scale outsourcing transactions, such as IT and business process outsourcing, cloud services, data sharing and hosting and other public infrastructure projects.
Amanda advises on all aspects of data regulation, including data protection and privacy, and has advised on large scale, cross-jurisdictional ransomware and data breach incident response matters as part of Ashurst's global cyber team, offering Legal, Risk Advisory and eDiscovery solutions in a single place.
It is Amanda's strong technical skill and commercial nous that have helped her build strong and enduring relationships with many clients on both a professional and personal level.
