Carl specialises in listed company takeovers, schemes of arrangement, equity capital raisings, private M&A and corporate governance matters. His experience includes advising corporate and private equity clients and government-owned entities.
Carl has advised on a variety of significant and complex corporate transactions for clients in a variety of sectors including mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, telecommunications and media, financial services and technology.
Carl advised Boart Longyear Group Ltd on its acquisition by funds managed by American Industrial Partners, Develop Global on its acquisition of Heron Resources, Finders Resources on its takeover by Eastern Fields Developments, Westfield Retail Trust in relation to its merger with Westfield Group's Australian and New Zealand business by scheme of arrangement, Lihir Gold Limited on its acquisition by Newcrest Mining Limited by scheme of arrangement and Consolidated Media Holdings Limited on its acquisition by News Limited by scheme of arrangement.
Carl also advised the State of Western Australia on the AU$1.41bn partial commercialisation of the Western Australian Land Information Authority.
Carl spent five years working at Slaughter and May in London and completed a six-month secondment at the investment bank, NM Rothschild and Sons Limited, while in London.
