David Mason is a partner in our project finance practice
David focuses in structured and project finance transactions with special emphasis on resource and infrastructure-related resource projects. He focuses on debt aspects of large projects including documentation of debt funding arrangements, due diligence requirements of financiers, security structure, inter-creditor arrangements, the extent of parent company support, tripartite arrangements with key contractors to the project vehicle, and the extent of lender step in rights. David is recognised in a number of international directories as one of the "leading finance lawyers" in Australia, such as Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500 Asia-Pacific and Best Lawyers Australia. He has acted as team leader on a number of large project transactions including the award-winning greenfields coal export terminal development at Wiggins Island in Gladstone and NCIG's development and expansion of the Newcastle coal export terminal in New South Wales. He has experience acting for project vehicles, sponsors and financiers.
In addition to his extensive experience advising on Australian projects, David also brings deep international projects experience spanning Asia, Africa and Pacific nations.
