Hiro has extensive experience in providing legal advice to Japanese companies entering the UK and EU through direct investment, including M&A, joint ventures and the establishment of branch offices and manufacturing sites.
He deals with a wide range of topics on day-to-day legal issues including general contract reviews, compliance advice (data protection, anti-bribery, etc), corporate reorganisation, competition/anti-trust maters, dispute resolution (arbitration and litigation), employment, real estate, liquidation and withdrawal of businesses, and other issues that are faced by Japanese companies conducting business in the UK and EU.
He has been in the US for 5 years and in the UK for 17 years, and during his tenure as a partner in Ashurst's London office, he advised a number of Japanese companies on UK law matters around the globe.
He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales as well as an attorney in New York and New Jersey in the United States. Hiro a registered foreign lawyer (Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi) in Japan (England and Wales, New York and New Jersey in the United States) admitted to the Tokyo Bar Association.
