Jamie is a senior associate in the financial regulation practice. He advises a wide range of financial institutions on all areas of regulatory compliance, including in relation to the FCA Handbook, the UK regulatory perimeter, the UK financial promotion regime, the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), anti-money laundering (AML), e-money/payment services regulations, MiFID II, FCA applications, the Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD) and consumer credit regulation (CCA and CONC).
Jamie has developed particular expertise in advising clients on all aspects of client money, custody and settlement system law, both when a going concern and in financial distress. This has involved guiding clients through the CASS rules, CREST rules, the central securities depositaries regulations (CSDR), the bank recovery and resolution directive (BRRD) and bespoke insolvency procedures for regulated firms such as the Investment Bank Special Administration Regulations.
Jamie draws on his experience and in particular his time spent in industry at a boutique asset manager and secondments to the wealth arm of a major retail bank and consumer credit intermediary, to provide his clients with well-rounded advice that is tailored to their commercial needs.
Jamie is a member of Ashurst's LGBTQI+ Spectrum network and is CSR champion for the London financial regulatory team.
