John's practice focuses on competition and consumer law matters, including merger reviews, investigations and litigation.
John has secured numerous merger clearances for clients, including in cases involving in-depth investigations and divestitures, and has represented clients before the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the UK Competition and Markets Authority, the European Commission and various other international agencies.
John has secured wins for clients in litigation and investigations involving allegations of anticompetitive mergers, anticompetitive agreements and misuse of market power.
John brings an international perspective to advising clients, having served at the UK Competition and Markets Authority and practised at US law firms in London. He has post-graduate qualifications in competition economics from King's College London.
John's clients span a range of sectors including technology, financial services, private equity, agriculture, healthcare, energy, transport, hotels, consumables, and construction materials.
