Lee McDonald is a partner and an Australian-registered foreign lawyer in our projects practice and is also the global head of projects & energy transition
Lee has more than 20 years' experience specialising in transport, construction and infrastructure projects internationally.
In particular, Lee has considerable expertise in all aspects of the rail industry, including in respect of infrastructure provision, franchising, rolling stock procurement and regulatory matters. His clients include public sector bodies, funders, rolling stock manufacturers, sponsors and contractors.
Lee has been involved in over 15 rail PPPs in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, successfully completing many public sector procurements.
Lee worked in Ashurst's London office for many years, bringing extensive rail sector experience and knowledge of international precedents in rolling stock PPPs to our Australian infrastructure team.
Lee is qualified in England & Wales and is an Australian-registered foreign lawyer.
