Pauline Walde is a counsel in our dispute resolution practice in Frankfurt
Pauline focuses her practice on international dispute resolution, with an emphasis on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. She advises both corporate and sovereign clients in a variety of sectors, including energy, oil and gas, mining, TMT, health and pharmaceuticals. Pauline has experience with disputes under a variety of institutional rules (DIS, LCIA and ICC), the ICSID Convention and UNCITRAL Rules as well as with pure ad hoc arbitration. She also acts as an arbitral assistant.
Pauline was recognized by Handelsblatt and Best Lawyers in the "Ones to Watch" category for international arbitration. She was also recognized by the Legal 500 EMEA.
Pauline regularly publishes on topics related to international arbitration and speaks at conferences, such as the conference International Investment Arbitration – Setting the Stage organized by the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) in New Delhi on remedies in investment treaty arbitration.
Pauline obtained her Master’s Degree in International and European business law from the Université Paris Dauphine, concentrating her studies on international arbitration and competition law. She also holds a double-degree in French and Italian law from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Università degli Studi di Firenze, where she focused her studies on private international, business and insolvency law.
Prior to joining Ashurst, Pauline worked for several years in the international arbitration practice group of another leading international law firm in Frankfurt.
Pauline is admitted to the Paris Bar. Her mother tongues are German and Italian. She is fluent in English and French. She also reads Spanish.
