Tamara has more than 15 years' experience specialising in employment, industrial relations, discrimination and occupational health and safety law.
Her clients cover both the public and private sectors and a broad range of industries including government, retail, mining, power and utilities, transport, education and sport.
She has extensive experience in conducting and managing complex employment-related litigation, including before the High Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and various tribunals and commissions both at the State and Federal Level.
She regularly advises on complex strategic employment and industrial work and provides practical solutions, including in respect of compliance with industrial instruments, redundancy and consultation processes, restructures, termination of employment issues, adverse action, disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, managing ill and injured workers, discrimination and harassment (including sexual harassment), industrial action, enterprise bargaining disputes and responding to and managing safety incidents.
Tamara is an experienced investigator and is skilled in conducting and advising on robust and procedurally fair workplace investigations, including in respect of complex and sensitive matters.
She also regularly develops and delivers client specific training in relation to a range of topics, including effective workplace investigations, industrial and employment relations, managing ill and injured workers, appropriate workplace behaviour and contact officer training.
Tamara has been consistently ranked as a leading individual for Labour and Employment Law in Best Lawyers Australia since 2016, was awarded 'Lawyer of the Year' for Employee Benefits Law in Queensland by Best Lawyers 2022, was recognised as an Employment & WHS Rising Star – Australia in both 2019 and 2022 by Doyle's Guide and was listed as a Recommended Employment Lawyer in Queensland by Doyle's Guide in 2023.
