Ashurst advised UK Government on Shetland Space Centre investment 

    Global law firm Ashurst advised the UK Government's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology on its investment in Shetland Space Centre.

    Shetland Space Centre operates SaxaVord Spaceport and is the UK's first fully-licensed spaceport operator for vertical rocket launch. Shetland Space Centre intends to use the proceeds to continue capital works on its launchpad in preparation for the UK's first vertical rocket launch, which is planned for late 2024.

    The Ashurst team was led by partner Jacob Gold supported by senior associate Scott Vanderwolf and associate Vienna Linley. Partner Sunny Kumar led on digital economy matters, supported by senior associate Emily McCracken, while partner Ruth Buchanan provided employment advice alongside associate Emily Bodger.
