Ashurst has advised Robert Bosch GmbH on the dissolution of its joint venture with DENSO Corporation, Advanced Driver Information Technology (ADIT), with business activities in Japan and Germany.
ADIT was established as a cooperative effort for the development of navigation systems in 2003. Bosch and DENSO later expanded the development scope to include in-vehicle infotainment systems. Owing to changes in the market environment, however, there will no longer be any need for a joint development in this sector in future. The activities in Germany will be taken over by Bosch while the activities in Japan will be taken over by DENSO.
The Ashurst team was led by partner Dr Stephan Hennrich. He was assisted by counsel Volker Germann and associate Chris Cerny (all Corporate / M&A). Partner Dr Alexander Duisberg advised on IP / IT law. Counsel Dr Susanne Knoch provided advice on tax law aspects. In Japan, partner Kensuke Inoue (Finance Regulatory / M&A) and associate Chiharu Takatori (Regulatory / M&A) were involved.
