Ashurst advises Equinix on first renewable power purchase agreement in Australia

    Global law firm Ashurst has advised Equinix Australia on its first long-term renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) in Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region with TagEnergy. Equinix will purchase 151 MW of renewable energy at Golden Plains Wind Farm – East in Victoria, Australia.

    Equinix is a global digital infrastructure company with 17 data centres in Australia. Equinix has a 100% renewables coverage target by 2030.

    The Golden Plains Wind Farm, owned by TagEnergy and Ingka Investments, is a major A$3 billion project for Victoria and is Australia's largest wind farm to date. Equinix will offtake nearly 20% of the total energy generated by the Golden Plains Wind Farm – East.
