Ashurst advises on Transmed Holding's acquisition of Amcan

    Global law firm Ashurst has advised Transmed Holding on its acquisition of Amcan, a player in MENA's sports nutrition market.

    Transmed Holding is a FMCG company in the Middle East and Africa, while Amcan is the largest sport nutrition and healthy food distribution business within the MENA region, with a network spanning over 18 different countries.

    The transaction involved the acquisition of subsidiaries in the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through which the business distributes products to the broader MENA region.

    The team was led by partner Simon Rahimzada and included partner Faisal Baassiri, senior associates Zaid Al-Rizzo, Ghassan Bayumi and associates Johnny Farhart, Haifa AlZeer, Rayan AlMadani and Layla Kimmie and paralegal Nisreen Rabah. Partner Nicholas Gardner and associate Umut Bektas supported on tax matters, while competition advice was provided by partner Neil Cuninghame and senior associate Adelle Elhosni.
