Ashurst recognised at ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2023

Global law firm Ashurst is named Restructuring and Insolvency Law Firm of the Year at the ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2023. It has also won Debt Market Deal of the Year for its role advising Goldman Sachs on the HKSAR Government's inaugural tokenised green bond offering.
The firm's award-winning restructuring and special situation and insolvency team advises the full range of stakeholders across the capital structure, insolvency practitioners, agents, trustees, issuers and borrowers in relation to distressed situations, where a resolution is achieved either through consensual means or, where necessary, enforcement or formal proceedings. The team also advises financial institutions, distressed credit funds and other alternative capital providers in relation to both secondary debt and special situations lending.
The world's first tokenised green bond issued by a government marks a significant breakthrough in capital markets innovation for Hong Kong, laying a solid foundation for asset digitisation in the region, and demonstrates Ashurst's expertise at the cutting edge of law, technology, and digital finance. It is a flagship transaction for the Hong Kong Government and reflects Hong Kong's focus as a hub for financial innovation and technology. Ashurst advised on all aspects of Hong Kong regulation for this novel market infrastructure.
