Global law firm Ashurst has been acknowledged for advising on two prize winning deals at The Bond Buyer Awards 2022, including:
- Fargo Moorhead Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management P3 Project, which was named the Public-Private Partnership Financing Deal of the Year. The team was led by counsel Ross McKinnon, and included partners Anna Hermelin and Jason Radford, and senior associate Christina Koravos, advised The Metro Flood Diversion Authority in Fargo, North Dakota on a Design Build Finance Maintain P3 model to deliver a 30-mile flood diversion channel - one of the only flood diversion channels in the world to be procured as a P3, and the first in North America.
- DC Smart Street Lighting P3 Project, which was named Northeast Region Deal of the Year. Partners Andrew Smith and Matthew Tague led the team advising Wells Fargo and TD Bank as underwriters of private activity bonds, classified as Green Bonds, to finance the development of the project. The project is the first successful P3 project in the District of Columbia. Associates Maria Linnen and Dominick Tarantino worked with the partners.
In addition, Fargo-Moorhead was chosen from all ten of the category winners as the 2022 Deal of the Year.
