Ashurst wins two awards at the Australasian Law Awards 2022

    The Boart Longyear restructuring won in its deal category, which stood out to the judges due to its complexity, innovation, size, and multi-jurisdictional features. 

    Ashurst's landmark global parental leave policy won Diversity Initiative of the Year. The judges were impressed by the meaningful, specific commitment to inclusion and support of parents in the workplace. Ashurst was the first law firm to implement the generous 26 weeks full paid parental leave, which are supported by several other measures which recognise the real needs of modern families.

    This is the second year running an Ashurst Inclusion, Diversity & Belonging initiative has won an Australasian Law Award. In 2021 Ashurst won Diversity Initiative of the year for its demonstrated commitment to disability inclusion and the value and contribution that people with disabilities make to the workforce and to the legal profession.

    Australasian Lawyer’s annual Australasian Law Awards are prestigious legal industry awards which celebrate the best and brightest in the profession. Winners were announced and celebrated at the awards gala held on 19 May 2022 in Sydney.
